Two weeks ago, we received the kind of news that you don’t want to receive. No matter if you are travelling around the world or if you are at home enjoying the daily life. One of our dear ones in the close family has been diagnosed with cancer.
Fortunately, this was a situation which we on before leaving Denmark have been discussing. Our approach at that time was to return to home, if that was needed. In this matter it was needed. The decision was easy. We arrived in Copenhagen airport on Sunday.
What about Silvia? Our car is still in the container ;-( It made it all the way to Valparaiso, Chile! But we took the (hard) decision not to take it through customs, but to re-direct the container to Europe. It is expected to arrive in Hamburg in the beginning of April 2020. Crazy to think about our car being in a container for 3 month – traveling the oceans!
What about us? We feel lucky and privileged that we had the option to come back and support the family. We have our focus on caring about our relatives. Even though the reason for returning was not happy at all it was great to see the family again
Was that it? NO, DEFINITELY NOT! We plan to stay at home as long as we are needed. And we plan to go back. We are ready to explore South America and finalize our planned world tour!
Stay tuned – we will be back.
