We have spent 7 weeks in amazing New Zealand, and we are ready to return for more. “You will never finish up with New Zealand – do you?”- a common sentence among travelers. We are ready for more. Especially more hiking or tramping as they call it in New Zealand. If you like forests, mountains, lakes, beaches and fiords all put together in a breathtaking scenery you should go to New Zealand! Bring lots of time and money.
We have been driving more than 7.000 km on the small and often narrow roads. Even though you can drive 100 km/h (which is crazy and causes a lot of dead people every year) things takes time in New Zealand. There are so many places to stop and see. Many campers on the road. And many one-lane-bridges which slows the pace down. Just accept it. And Enjoy.
Besides from the beautiful “mother nature” the New Zealanders are very, very friendly and curious people. They have time. And they want to listen and talk. Combine that with a lot of delicious wine (sublime sauvignon blanc and chardonnay), fresh fish and lovely lamb then you will find the perfect recipe for an unforgettable holiday. For sure we did.
This blog is covering our 3 weeks with our family from Denmark and our last week alone.
