Welcome to Malaysia! Below you can find our pictures from
George Town, Penang. A really nice and cozy village and at the same time the second largest city in Malaysia. Founded by the British as a center for trade. Beautiful 2 storage houses, build side by side. Some in beautiful colors. There are 5000 of them.
We found fantastic food markets, beautiful cafes and creative art shops. We should also mention all the street art. See pictures below.
The old part of George Town is today under protection of the UNHCR world heritage, which has supported the conservation.
If you have a chance to visit. Prioritize 😊
Cameron Highlands. Located in the Malaysian mountains! With the-plantations and huge areas with greenhouses for “production” of vegetables. The last destroying the beautiful view of the highlands with their white plastic roofs! As climate is optimal for both vegetables and the production it is understandable.
Besides from the ugly with roofs, the highlands have turned into a favorite vacation area for Malaysians. With lower temperature and less humidity. To accommodate all the turist big concrete houses has been build all over. You can find ferrishweels, malls and restaurants spread all over the (once upon a time beautiful) highlands.
Cameron Highlands are known for its “jungle treks” – we spend an afternoon with Julien and Magali trekking in the muddy Mossey Forrest. Not easy but great fun!
